Yes they certainly are the Vossen cv3rs.
They are 18", running them right now on 245/40s since they came straight of the 5 series that can be seen in the pictures.
Car sits slightly lower than with the 16" winter set but looks very nice and the ride quality is almost as good as the 16" though hard to tell since the car isn't perfectly aligned still.
I thought they were, I've been salivating over those wheels for years.

Good to finally see them on the e38, great choice.
    Maybe one day

Did some maintenance today, something where I had the parts in the trunk for months.

At the end of last year I changed the front and rear rotor and pads on the E38, the front passenger set screw would not come out, eventually, I just drilled the head so I could finish changing the brakes, you don't need the set screw it just makes things easier.

I decided I would change the front hub/bearings since they were old on both sides, as well as my sway bar end links which I forgot to buy when I did the entire suspension refresh, last missing piece.

Changed both sides, and something happened on the driver's side, a mircle that I have never seen before, the bearings race came off with the hub all in one part!! Lucky day , well I wasnt as lucky on the passenger side but I expected that.

Forgot to take pics of the new sway bar links.

While i was in there my horn gas only had the high tone for maybe a year now. So annoying because its almost nonexistent. I bought a set of both high and low off Ebay, and replaced them, now I have a working horn and the car is smooth as glass!

    New parts in...

One of the rolls where quite worn...

Hopefully the squeel is gone on startup now.

    EDIT:
After looking some before pictures I now know why it was so worn. Never seen belt routed like this on M52...

Replaced my 96 740il with a GORGEOUS 01 740il!! I gave the 96 to my daughter for her 21st birthday. My 01 is in mint condition. Spent the weekend thoroughly cleaning her - so now it can be detailed. I got 10 great years of driving looking forward to another.

Rear brakes tune up. They are fine otherwise just ugly and rusty. Cleaned them as good as possible and some paint. Also did a little maintenance and cleaned and greased everything. Probably won't last too long so nice, but will do for now.

Finished up my timing chain guides, vanos rebuild, valve cover powder coat and cooling system refresh project this past weekend. Took me 3 total weeks, Some photos of the process here: https://imgur.com/a/YHrTHne

Really happy with how it came out , no check engine lights or anything and it seems like its running great. I went with the 88C Thermostat recommended earlier in this thread. I do have a bit of a power steering fluid leak out of the 24mm banjo bolt in the power steering pump that I need to address, hopefully I just need to tighten it up a bit more.

Had the transmission rebuilt installed Akebono brake pads, cleaned the MAF sensor and got rid of a fault code.
I've still got things to fix on her. My dream is to drive her just ONE day with absolutely nothing needing attention.

Many of you on here can remember my problems with Darth's intermittent starting "clicks".... It findally got the best of me and I decided to try to do something about it. Several weeks ago I disconnected the battery and started at the battery I began removing every connections on the battery cables all the way to the starter. I would cisconnect them and the clean with a small wire brush and replace. This included all rhe connections on the starter - 4 I believe. It was a pain in the Arse. Then I went to connect the battery today it was dead. Looked and discovered I had installedd it in June of 2013 - A BMW AGM I had paid $204 back then....I went down to BMW and got another. Same theng and they evven gave me the same price today. Got home installed and Darth fired offf the first time and about 8 more timers as I took it out for a walk and lunch....I really hope this has cured the starting problems....

Got the car back from the mechanic on the 19th of July , since then maybe driven like 320 miles, seems that the mysterious problem is solved although under soft acceleration he has slightly troubles like before but barely, under heavier acceleration, he needs a slight bit more time to think but still accelerates nicely for a 725tds.
Regarding my work that I've done since then -
Added the extra floor illuminating lights pretty much like the 750s can have them and replaced the fuel door actuator although it still worked, apparently some plastic was rotated to much and that caused it to not fully secure the door, but that's fixed and working now.
Tomorrow's task will be washing, cleaning and polishing, this time with a new friend.

Attempted to fix passenger side b post from unclipping itself, failed, but succeeded in removing old receipts from the driver’s side pocket, crisps from the footwell and retrieved two Boost chocolate bar rappers from the driver’s door cubby hole - every cloud ...
