True that! And they have their own market share and fan club as well, so although I'm not a fan, I see your point. Especially if you have a 47k mile original car! Wow.

I hate to admit it but my son was a big factor in pushing me to get an E38. Of course the first mod he wants is to slam it???
I thought I'd raised him to have good taste He drives an E46 M3 and an F10 335.

Good taste is subjective, I'm 55 and come from a hot rod and '50s custom background, so these slammed E38s are right up my alley and I love well done ones. Enough that I'd love to get a pre-facelift iL and do the whole VIP thing to it on air or coilovers.

Interesting. iL Sport with the Sport seats, Steptronic conversion, and 3 spoke wheel. Wonder what else it has? I hate that on CL: free ads with no limit on how much description you can put on there and they put up one word. ONE freakin' word. 'cmon, guy.

That one keeps coming up in my daily craigslist troll. Does look pretty clean. A little pricey for the mileage especially considering if the guides aren't done it's only a matter of time.

It's a bit pricey for the miles if the guides haven't been done, but honestly, I've seen much worse E38s asking for more money around that area and not much in the way of short sports for that price or less that weren't a complete pile. $5800 for a clean looking, well optioned 01 sport is on the cheaper end near NYC it seems. From what I can tell, it's slightly cleaner than mine was with 35k less miles, has more desirable colors, is just as well optioned, etc. And it's cheaper.
