    Tramlining

Hi my 08 e90 msport is tramlining/wandering on back roads but is fine on motorway!
Changed worn control arm last week and it’s still the same
    Any ideas?

Have you had a 4 wheel alignment done? What kind of tires? How much tread? More info needed.

No alignment done, got them balanced and switched left to right still the same.Changed from uniroyals to Bridgestone and noticed the tramlining shortly afterwards maybe coincidence or could it be steering rack issue like a worn knuckle?

Your first step should be a proper 4 wheel alignment.

Are you seeing it at one spot on the road? truck ruts were giving me that weaving near my home, on race tires.

Yea I’ll get alignment done and rule things out bit by bit.
No real exact spot on road only on secondary roads where camber can be uneven

Tire size? Anything wide and low (225/50-ish or more) will catch ruts and steer for you no matter whether the alignment is perfect or not. Ruts in the road catch the shoulders of the tire and help you steer. It's just physics. Quite possibly nothing will fix it.

Try running the tires at spec psi. After getting new rear tires on mine the car was all over the road. The shop had the psi all over the board. I dropped them 2 psi at a time until getting to the spec on the door. All back to normal. Slight tramlining.
