dash gauges went crazy & errors on navi screen

Hi guys, I am new here.

Can you please help me with a e87 120d from 2005. I was driving home and suddenly my gauges started moving up and down, like some short circuit was happening. DTC ABS Seat belts, handbrake all errors on the dash. + on the navy screen i got the massage: "electronic failure, you cant continue your journey, DTC failure please drive carefully, ELV failure please stop the car slowly. I discovered that its going crazy just when the headlight are on. As I turn off the lights all the errors diaper. As I turn them back on errors come on to. All mi lights are working fine on the car.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks a lot!

Either your battery is failing to hold a charge, or the alternator is failing, or maybe both.
But it may be simply loose +/- battery connections or failing engine ground strap connections.

Do you own a multimeter/voltmeter? You may be able to perform a simple test of your charging system.

Unfortunately battery is new, just bought it this summer. The multi meter says 12.5 when the engine is off and 14.8 - 15.00 when engine on.

“14.8-15VDC” is high. Do you trust your meter?

    Whacky voltages cause whacky issues.
