Keep posting. I'm enjoying the project. Are you going to work the transition from the lower fenders into the skirts any more?

Very true that these type of projects are rare and that is what I truly love about doing it, the freedom and ability to use imagination and dream up something and bring it to a reality. Fabrication even at its simplest form just brings a sense of pride even if it isn't perfect for everyone. I greatly appreciate everyone on here that posted "think outside the premade box" builds because you are right, there is tons of great knowledge and ideas to learn from them.

Ohhh and on the note of the side skirts, there is more work to be done. I will be building a custom sideskirt that transitions the front and rear together as soon as the warm weather returns and I can work comfortably outside in Connecticut lol

Main hoop and box with the rest of the roll cage arrived today. All the parts getting piled up waiting for spring to install is exciting and rather depressing at the same time

Taking inventory of the rollcage parts and basic mock up to make sure everything aligns well. Not much of an update but as the weather warms up I'll have plenty more progress to report back

After a long winter I'm finally able to get back to the project. Jumping the gun a little but I was anxious to test out my color scheme so here is the beginning of it. I'll keep the updates coming.

I haven't put much consideration into the lights yet to be honest. I know I'll be doing the stock amber corner lights but as far as the head lights I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

Very nice work, thanks for sharing. I really admire the skill it takes to produce that quality of work. Keep the updates coming.
Positive feedback is greatly appreciated thank you! It's going to be a long process but I'll keep this updated until the very end.

Depo headlights with Retro-Quick retrofit using FX-R projector. https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...ellipsoid.html
I would say zkw also but the output in the zkw is inferior to FXr projectors.

I like the projector option, as this is a purely dedicated track project the lighting output isn't particularly important but if later on I decided to do evening events it would be nice to have them

Slow progress but here is a look at what I think is going to be the finalized sideskirt

Looking good man, keep it up. I see you playing with CF. Pretty damn difficult to make perfectly cleared parts eh?
I have oil in my blood; that is my dedication level to cars.
Thanks, little by little its coming along. The CF I started playing with a few years back and it was a learning curve to get the finished look I wanted. When i finally realized that if the epoxy mixture is just right it can be wet sanded and buffed like automotive paint things became a lot easier lol

Removed the sunroof cassette today
And welded in the sunroof skin to drop some more weight and make clearance to get the rollcage as tight to the roof as possible

And a little bit more
