Hi this is my 1st post.
I recently purchased a 2001 325TI Compact from a 2nd hand car dealer for £1200.
It has 150000 on the clock and has got a full BMW Main Dealer service history with the most recent service last March and only one owner from new.
Following purchase, I noticed a vibrate on idle and a general loss of power commensurate with how a 2.5 engine should drive. (Auto box)
1st thing in the morning, the car flies along for the 1st ten minutes or so but after that and for the rest of the day it idles rough and the car vibrates and it is down on power.
I plugged in my el cheapo code reader and it returned the following codes:-
1. P0369 Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Intermittent Bank 1
2. P056 H02S Heater Control Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 2
3. P0202 Injector Circuit Open Cylinder 2
4. P0102 Mass or volume air flow A circuit low
5. P1345 manufacturer Control
I have checked the voltages at the Camshaft Position sensor and they are fine and have purchased a replacement Camshaft Sensor to rule that our as being the root cause.
I also removed and cleaned the MAF as this was a cause of rough running on a VW Golf I used to own and was easy enough to do.
Could anyone offer some advice and guidance in terms of a sensible process of next steps I could try, bearing in mind I am a bit of a novice with cars but am willing to 'have a go'!

Check for vacuum leaks and go from there. Better if you have an access to a smoker.
Hi. Here are some ideas.
Fault P1345 (BMW) - Misfire cylinder 2 with cut-off probably means: faulty spark plug (for cylinder 2), faulty ignition coil, intake vacuum leak, faulty camshaft position sensor, ignition coil harness is open or shorted; ignition coil circuit poor electrical connection.
Fault P0102 means: Dirty mass air filter, dirty MAF sensor, intake air leaks, faulty MAF sensor
Fault P0202 means: Faulty fuel injector, fuel injector 2 harness is open or shorted, fuel injector 2 circuit poor electrical connection
Fault P0056 probably means a bad O2 sensor or a damaged circuit connection (shorted connection)
Fault P0369 means: faulty camshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor harness is open or shorted, camshaft position sensor circuit poor electrical connection, faulty starter of motor, starting system circuit, dead (weak) battery.
Thank you.
Wow, sounds like a lot of things wrong.
Perhaps the 2nd hand car guy should have told me this when he sold it to me!
Clear all those codes, then perform a short drive cycle.
Next perform a new scan, take note of any new codes,
post back with codes that appear.
