occasional blue smoke 0n start

2001 330ci. I've noticed on occasions that upon start-up there is a slight cloud of blue smoke coming from the exhaust.... maybe just once a week. obviously this is oil related, and the car runs great. any ideas?

Worn valve guide seals, pcv system (cyclone valve) worn out or you could try a slightly thicker oil. What weight oil is in it now

when this started on my 2002 325ci i noticed it would also happen from faster driving coming to a good stop, like at a sudden red light. then upon take off blue smoke behind car. oil consumption was also an issue. i fixed all of the above with the pilot 02 mod. 50s kid on youtube has a good diy. its pretty easy and oil consumption is way lower.

We had a e46 that had oil consumption issue, we change the oil to a thicker oil and we used the lube moly engine flush in it. I Checked back with the customer a couple of times and the oil usage had slowed down
