My leather is in ... OK shape. It's not a show car, it gets driven, so I'm fine with it.
The passenger seat is still firm.
The back of the drivers seat is fine.
The bottom of the drivers seat has ..... "Sunk" a bit over the years and miles. If I eBay a seat there is no reason to believe the same thing won't happen again.
There seems to be an option to purchase the bottom foam. Has anyone ever done this?

Zed's dead baby. Zed's dead.
no....but Ive been tempted.
245k miles...20 yrs...
my drvrs side, lt sided lower thigh bolster shows some compression.
I've not done this, but also thinking about it...my seats look like *hit. Trying to decide wheather to replace them (aftermarket) or buy new cushions for the driver side and have the leather re-upholstered. Interested in this topic as well.
If replace i guess the heat (heated seats) is out.
Maybe the tensioner as well? not sure...

Ya, over time this too will break down, however it will be a few years.
An upholstery shop should be able to add to/rebuild your seat base cushion, though I’d think a fresh factory cushion might be as good and less expensive. And they ca possibly add some reinforcements to a new cushion.

I have the opposite problem owing to my own physiology(boney butt). My M has 20k miles and the seat gets very hard by 50 miles or so. I ordered a wheelchair cushion in memory foam, but its 2” thickness is way too much. Still looking, but a different internal cushion material, like a memory foam sure would be a nice option.
