    Vanos help! E46 m3

Hey guys, yep it’s happened, the vanos is shot. Just spoke to my mechanic, need the complete vanos with solenoids and such. I Saw dr vanos sells the rebuilt ones. Any insight to somewhere cheaper to buy a used one. I’ve already spent enough on this car. Lol any help would be appreciated. Located in ny, can drive nj,ct,pa to pick up one up. Thanks in advance

I have a known good VANOS assembly, with both solenoids, off of a 2002 M54 engine. The engine had a blown HG but ran before teardown. I wound up using a good used engine, so I have some extra parts. If the PM function works for lowly newbies such as I, send me a PM and we can work something out.

You are correct, as that is motor specific.

I have used Dr. Vanos in the past. I will not recommend them as I was given the run-around for a couple of years with badly drilled oil pump, a busted solenoid, amongst other things.

I would suggest having a look at this website, and if the tech is comfortable with rebuilding yours, would be a much cheaper alternative: http://www.beisansystems.com/
