    Brake Pressure sensors

I am going to our local LKQ junkyard and pull off some brake pressure sensors on some relevant cars to my 03 Z4. I wonder if there is any way of testing them before I actually install them. I'm getting the dreaded yellow warning lights. I've had luck at the yard before. I got a BMW jack for 6 dollars and I've seen them on Ebay for 50.

Do you have a scanner to read the ABS/DSC fault codes? They will tell you where to start looking for fault diagnosis. You should also be able to monitor the pressures from the sensors in live data to confirm if they are the problem or not.

Long shot, try disconnecting the electrical connector to the ABS pump for a couple of minutes, ignition off.

I have the Creator 310 and have seen the codes pop up. I've cleared the fault and everything looks okay for a bit, but then the lights come back on. I saw on the U.K. Forum where they unplug the electrical connection to the ABS pump and also the connection to the brake pressure sensors. It can't hurt.

Any idea of what the normal, live pressure on the brake sensors might be ?

Zero with no peddle pressure going up as you apply peddle pressure. I remember seeing 20 kPa when pushing hard on the peddle. Watch to see that both sensors are giving the same pressure. If one is out, then its in need of being changed.

Thank you, I will check them out. By the way, I went for a 40 mile ride yesterday and had no lights come on. What triggers them I wonder ?
