    AIM Solo Setup for e36/s54/5-speed

Howdy! Anyone know how I need to setup my Aim Solo DL to properly capture and display rpm, speed, and gear? Car is an e36 with 5-speed, s54, 3.64 gears

Video is example of what it currently shows. The gear is always off

    Thanks!!

If you dont get very far here, try rennlist.they have a subforum inside the track section that is for data analysis that is very active.

Your AIM should be capturing GPS speed by itself, but not sure how to capture RPM signal from an e36. Once you have the RPM, gear should be able to be autocalculated, but not familiar with the AIM Solos in specific.

How are you currently reading rpm? Is it from the OBD2 port? I have a similar swap, but I have a regular Solo left over from my OBD1 days. I've been wondering what info was available from the OBD2 with a S54 swap if I were to step up to the DL. With the manual, there is no way to automatically get gear selection from the car, but as posted above, it may be possible to set it up in a math channel somehow. I need to study on that one some...

Thanks for the suggestion! I do have the ODBII from the e46 and s54 swap, so it captures rpm. But of course the gear is off.

Thanks, I have ODB2 from the swap. But I’m thinking the AIM thinks I have a 6-speed trans as a result

Have you plugged it into Race Studio software? You answers have been all answered through AIM's youtube channel if you google. Found this gear setup thread here:

Cool, thank you. Yes I’ve had it in the software as well. Was wondering if there was a setting in Race Studio. I’ll go the manual calibration route
