Hello everyone, I am new to this forum.
I have a E82 N47D20C engined car that is consistantly going into limp mode with an EML displayed. Upon scanning I am getting the following codes. "Rail Pressure Monitoring, delivery deviation", "Fuel Pressure control" & "Rail Pressure Monitoring, Delivery Deviation".
At a steady speed, the car can be felt pulsing up and down. This can be veiwed in the live data showing rail pressure, a spike in pressure is felt as a jolt of acceleration. The car will go into limp mode and sometimes die altogether.
So far, I have - changed the rail pressure sensor and fuel filter. I cut open the old fuel pressure and checked inside the fuel rail - no filings have been observed which to me suggests the HPFP may still be healthy.
The car still has full power when not in limp mode and is driving well.
Has anyone had similar problems?
It could be the fuel pump.
