I bought a 08 535i with 110K miles on it. 10 days later it through a P0306 code. Before the car died on the 10th day the car was drove around town for some errands, I did feel a small jump in the engine will it was parked and driving ever so often. We changed all the spark plugs (bosch) and coils (bosch) and erased the code. We then tried to start the car it worked for a couple of minutes but still sounded like is was misfiring. We checked all the plugs and coils and tried to restart the car and it would not start at all. The car is not giving any codes and will not start. Check all fuses all good besides the 12V outlet in truck had a blown fuse.
I have not even put 300 miles on the car since i got it.
I need a some help.
I would borrow a good scan tool with bmw specific software to pull codes. The foxwell nt510 is a good value and you get one brand specific module when you register it. Years ago, our 08 535xi stumbled occasionally at idle and it was attributed to vanos solenoids. It never got bad enough to the point it stalled and would not start before it was fixed under warranty. Your problem may be something else. Best to diagnose and not just throw parts at it unless maybe you can borrow them from a known good car. Parts cost can add up. This forum is not very active. Try the mechanical forum here. 5 series dot net or com has the best E60 tech but it’s not that active. N54 tech dot com has good E90 tech that covers the N54.
thank you
Agreed on the scan tool. Owning an E61 myself, I HIGHLY recommend building an INPA system. It has been invaluable when troubleshooting issues on my own.

What was the problem? I've have nothing but problems with Bosch spark plugs on BMWs. I don't ever use them anymore. NGKs or OEM BMW plugs only.
