97 Z3 abs module suggested repair places

I need a 97 Z3 Abs module repaired, (the one that is behind the glovebox part Number 34.52-1 164 320 that is not attached to the hydraulic unit) . I called module masters and was told that they cant repair it. I called BBA Reaman and they Quoted me $425.00. I was wondering if anyone know of any different places that might be more cost effective. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone know any sources for Diy Repair that would work also. Thanks

If it is truly the "control unit", then IMHO (and recent experience) then I am unaware that module can be repaired (like the controller on "some" ABS pumps located in the engine compartment). Have you absolutely confirmed it is that module? You maybe able to find one from Bavarian Auto Recycling. I purchased an ABS unit (on my M the unit was not-rebuildable) and I suspect they could provide a used (1year guarantee) module at a reasonable cost (my ABS pump/module was $125 shipped). But there are others much more knowledgable on this forum that may have more insight.

That control unit is for the ASC+T (traction control) part of braking system.
I would just find a used replacement. There are plenty available.

Why do you think it needs to be repaired?

I believe the ABS moduleto be bad because I ran the Diagnostics and it said that the control module is bad as well as the hydraulic control unit. My concern in purchasing a used one is that I believe that it has to be recoded for the car, correct?, I was trying to avoid this by having my existing module repaired. If a used module is just plug and play and will work I would certainly go that route because it would be cheaper.

What were the exact ABS codes?

You most likely have an issue at the pump. There is a wiring harness/ribbon inside the pump, which can crack and deteriorate causing a lot of issues.

I have a code 66 throttle valve actuator mechanical, an 82 code for the ABS solenoids, and a 71 for the ABS module. I'm fairly sure I will have to resolder the Abs pump ribbon, but I wanted to start with the module repair because this is my daily driver. Do you think I should start with the pump first? And see if that clears everything up? I'm not sure if the codes stack one on each other and they affect the other codes being read. I'm fairly new to electronic computers in cars I'm kind of old school.
