First comes the mortgage and then comes the kids. Then there goes any hope of restoring this lovely beast. So, I'm thinking about doing the right thing and sending her off to a good home, since she's just collecting dust in my garage.
1981 320is from California (only has surface rust)
Grey market 2.3l out of a 1980 323i
Drivetrain and brakes from 323i
Drilled and slotted rotors for all 4 corners
Battery relocated to trunk with brace welded in
15'' alpina rims (one is bent but functional)
Is she worth anything these days?
No pictures?

I'm at work right now but I can update tomorrow
I think he means the 'engine' is euro. the car might be a clean 320is.

Right... I completely misread that.
interested to see what this looks like!
As far as I can remember, CA smog law allows engine swaps only from newer donor vehicles, never older. For example I put an '83 6.2 diesel in a '77 van (nightmare) and they were totally OK because it was newer, they said. No inspection. I also remember reading this in smog law web pages.
