Hi! Newbie here!
Went out to the car -- '98 Z3 convertible -- and the driver's door handle lifts, hits a hard point, and won't open the door. The inside handle does, although it feels more difficult than usual. No problem with the passenger-side door.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on a fix?

I thought mine would need surgery. All it needed was some lubricant. I used spray chain oil, (purchased for my bike chain), so that it might affect places I couldn't reach.

white lithium grease fixed my passenger side door instantly. sprayed on latch striker only.

Sprays sound messy; I use the thinnest smear of white lithium on the hook inside the latch. Not even enough to have dust/dirt stick to it.
