2004 325i- upon starting the car, the idle surges between 500 and 1k about twice every second, rpms do not change if I press down the gas pedal. About a year ago this happened and I found a post with a sequence for resetting whatever is causing the problem by moving the key in the ignition between the 1 and 2 positions in a certain order. But now I cant remember what the problem was and so I cant find that key sequence to reset whatever is going on. Anyone got any ideas?
