2007 328xi

Hey bimmerforums, so I’ve been looking at 328s for a while and I found one that I feel pretty good about (2007 328xi, 65,000 miles, w/ Idrive, manual transmission for $9300). First thing is I want to know if you guys think it’s a good deal, seems to be the best one I’ve come across.

The other catch is it’s 900 miles from so I’d be flying out and driving it back, something I’m considering doing as soon as tomorrow.

I was wondering what the forums thoughts might be on the car at it’s price and the prospect of flying out to see a car and driving it back.

Depending upon options it's a good price, or not so good. Newer 335i/328i/335d cars are going in the $8-$10K range, so it's a bit pricey just at first glance. Low miles do give it a bit of price bump, but the condition should match.

I've flown to look at 2-3 cars, then bought one and drove it back. Kind of a cool and somewhat frightening thing to do. Be sure to arrange to have the cash you need in a bank that is in the area where you're going - only way to assure same-day buying. Cashiers checks are no longer to do this, as there's a waiting period for the check to appear in the seller's (private I presume) bank.

The most important thing that you can do is to get a PPI (pre-purchase inspection). This should give you all the info you'll need in deciding whether the car is worth pursuing. Best of luck!
