Power steering/Power Brakes???

Symptoms: Revving the engine around 5k rpms causes the Brake light to come on permanently and results in complete loss of both Power steering and Power Brake assist.

By performing a drain, cleaning the filters and then refilling with new Pentosin, I was previously able to get things back to normal. However, this is no longer working.

Is the Power Steering pump toast? Is this the correct one for the CSi:

It says it’s no longer available, so what am I supposed to do? Anyone have one for sale? Can I use another e31 version? Are these serviceable/rebuildable? Does the Repair kit 32-41-1-135-836 help or is it only for leaks?

If you do need it rebuilt, check out Benchwork Steering Systems, Inc., in Scottsdale.
They rebuilt my 840 power steering pump and did a fine job.

If you brakes and power steering is working fine in all other respects - it is worth hoping that one of the pressure switches is failing at high pressures - cheap and easy to replace as a first port of call...

Also I assume you cleaned the filter for ASC+T?
