    B pillar cover interior . . .

i have 4 door 328i 1998 . my B pillar makes squeaky noise when i go over bumps.

When i partially remove the top of theb pillar platic cover it seems there was a tab there but it broke off i think.
    .
But it seems this missing piece goes into just a square hole in the car trim..

Is there a clip this broken tab goes into ?

i looked at real OEM but didnt see anything, but those diagrams are tricky.

    thanks

probably it disappeared inside the B=pillar. When I did my headliner and A,B, C pillars I ordered some of them as spare, the easily get lost. The tab of course you also have to remake, I used a glass fibre mat repair kit with resin, re-shaped it and works well, stronger than the old plastic. Did that already before on my E32

yes, same here. upper plastic clip on panel broken. my plan is to use 2 sided tape where will do most good to stop plastic tapping at low speeds. until then i place flexible material between pillar and passen seat to quiet.

There is a square hole in the b-pillar, where you insert the clip

thanks for the help. Really great people here . .

I placed foam insulation thats used for windows (sticky on one side) a little below
where the broken tab is. Maybe 2 inches long.

I also put a little white Zinc grease along the edge of the Pillar cover along the sides / edges above
    the seat belt point.
    where it meets the rubber.
    Wiped off excess.

    And noise is gone !!!

I think alot of that squeak is the rubbing of the rubber against the cover. . But both the grease and insulation buffer did it.
