Window Rolls Down When You Open The Door

I recently picked up a E36 coupe and when the drivers door opens from the inside, the window rolls all the way down. I tried to initialize the window, it will auto close and auto open when I use the button on the center counsel, but it still opens all the way when the door opens.
When the door is opened from the outside it also doesn't roll down at all (it should roll down 1/2" or so).

    Where do I start?

    Thanks.

That's a feature that you code on/off with the E46. Sounds like you may have a UAS keyless/alarm module installed, or there is coding on the OEM modules that have that feature mentioned with the E46.

I know, my comment was for E36.

Check to make sure your door striker button still functions / is connected first.

Door strikers do not cause the windows to roll completely down. They activate the window drop to clear the coupe roof ledge. That's it for window function.

When initializing the window, I'm assuming you're using center button to bring window all the way up. You then continue to hold the button for 20-30 seconds. Repeat process when rolling window down.

At one point my window was stuck open but I was able to use the door striker button to bring it back to full position. I would start here before looking at programming.
