I'm installing a VAC/ATI damper on an S54, I measured the thickness of the portion where the four securing bolts go through the damper and it is thicker than the stock damper. The stock damper uses a little steel washer/plate with 4 holes in it however (if I include this washer on the stock damper, they are both about the same thickness). I'm trying to determine if I use the washer on the VAC/ATI damper?, and if so would I need longer bolts to compensate?, or is there enough thread in the OEM bolts to not be a problem? I assume the purpose of the plate is to provide a suitable hardness material for the bolt head with the stock damper, the VAC/ATI damper looks to be steel in this area so I would think it would not need the washer/plate. Nothing in the instructions about this. thanks
Ya I’d be inclined to use new stock bolts and #7.

Was this ever resolved? I'm having fitment issues with my new ATI S54 damper as well.
