X3 Heated steering wheel retrofit

I’m looking at buying a 2015 X3 35i msport. It does not have heated steering wheel. Is it reasonably easy to add? I’m very mechanically inclined but wondering what the process is unless massive disassembly is required. Sorry if this is a repeat but I looked and couldn’t find anything.

I was wondering if anyone has a thread or a detailed list of parts needed to retrofit a heated steering wheel into a 2015 X3? I’ve done some research but the threads were for older model cars and the F26 has the switch on the steering column so there’s some differences I’m trying to figure out before I get too deep into this or tear the car apart to find out I need something I didn’t think of.

Hello - take a look at the link below to an earlier thread where this is discussed - the process should be very similar to the X3. There are also a lot other threads available for the procedure. Hope this helps you out a bit!
