After recent recall for auxillary cooling pump replacement the tech noted that the cooling lines to the turbos are leaking. Discussion with BMW engineer onsite said this is a common problem due to the heat in the V of the motor. He also said they have started insulating those lines when replaced. I'd like to tackle this and a few other items but not without some guidance. The BMW engineer here said their shop as well as other independent shops use expensive software (electronic shop manual). An owner like myself could not justify that expense however I would like to maintain my own vehicle to the extent possible so that I know the condition. I will and have taken it to the pros when it is over my head. Does anyone have a recommendation for this issue as well as other maintenance issues that reasonably competent owner can tackle? 2012 650i 55k miles, love it.
Thanks, Steve
