New or rebuilt engine wiring harness

I just recently tried and failed to order a new engine wiring harness from BMW of NA and it is coming up as NLA. Does anyone know.of anyone on the forum who offers an engine wiring harness repair/rebuild service, or possibly have a new old stock harness available?

My harness is a bit crispy, and I have been getting erratic readings from some of the sensors. The car runs fine, except for a hunting idle. I would like to rule out the harness for piece of mind, plus I've already replaced everything else so why not...

You should advise year and model of your car?
Its a time consuming job but I cut away much of the hardened protective sleeve on my 850i engine harness and wrapped with silicone amalgamating tape. The wires inside my harness were in decent shape, just the outer sleeve that became hard and brittle.
I'd be more inclined to investigate a possible intake manifold leak.

My apologies I forgot to list that, the car is 1991 6spd. I already did a smoke test on the intake, and no leaks were revealed. In INPA I noticed the ignition angle going out of range on bank 7-12 whenever the rpms would drop, so I also have a new set of CPSs on the way. I really just wanted to complete the freshening of the car as, the only two items left that haven't been refreshed are the wiring harness and the engine bottom end.

Is this the tape your are referring to?

    F4 Tape - Self-Fusing Silicone Tape MIL-SPEC 1" X 36' (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002LA2258..._dFdfCbAX7NZ05

Better option for a lot of it is this...

2" wide and triple the length. The product you found IS excellent, but at only 1" wide you are going to use a lot of it... but get some it for the thinner runs of wire, the wider tape is for the fatter loom
