    Clutch noise

So I've swapped in an s52 with a zf trans into my e34 and installed a new clutch and pressure plate with a throwout bearing but now when it idles im getting a rattling noise unless i push in the clutch then it goes away. has anyone else had an issue like this? I did some research and tolked to some of my friends about it they think it could be the throw out bearing but from what ive read the its normally the other way around meaning when the clutch is engaged it would make a noise. Is this correct or am I misunderstanding?

If you used a lightweight flywheel, that’ll rattle.

I used the stock fly wheel with a sachs clutch but not OEM it was a bit beefier then stock. but it came with pressure plate bearing and all that jazz. I also replaced the bolts with some grade 8 ones.

By "stock", do you mean the original dual-mass? Those don't usually rattle at idle but I guess it's possible.

Push the clutch in slowly and see if you can determine whether the noise goes away as soon as there's any pressure on the pressureplate, or if it requires full disengagement of the clutch.
