So I replaced my OEM nav system, radio, DSP amp, CD player with an all pioneer system , speakers ,amp, subwoofer, etc. and I knew I would lose the ability to change the functions in my cluster display so I was thinking maybe I could wire one of these up put it in the glovebox or just have the ability to plug or unplug it while I change the date, time or some other cluster function I have lost . I really don't need those functions as the Pioneer system has that but I just got a new battery and every time I start the car now it chimes to tell me the milage in the gas tank, kind of annoying. When I looked at a diagram of the Ibus system it seems that all those functions only need a monitor to change since its all controlled at the button on the turn signal

Hope this works cause I’m in the same dilemma.

Easy deal, you just take your dsp unit and power it anywhere then connect the bus wire to it. I think its blue with a white stripe. The way these wires are coded you can patch into them anywhere and get the same result.
I controlled ibus from a patch next to the amp.

You are all talking about different things. The picture OP posted, is of the DSP screen. OP you need the MID in order to change the OBC functions (that's the wide rectangular piece). The thing in your picture only lets you adjust the DSP settings.
No it's not easy, as you don't have the MID wiring harness there a non-nav car would have. You may be able to fab up a harness that supplies the wires necessary. Not only that, nav cars are coded such, and MID cars are coded as such. Not sure if things will work properly without the coding.

I have the oem radio head unit in the trunk powered up and tapped into the bus. It talks to it fine. Should be the same for the mid and dsp box. Plenty of cars in the yard with that connector. The only thing you need to do is send the tiny packet to the bus, I found something cool looking around for some real bus fun!
