    M60 Old School Performance

So I was looking at my spare V8 and I noticed the ASC horn has a ton of casting marks on the inside and that the throttle body has a ridge. I think I want to try a port and polish on these guys and see how much of a throttle difference it makes on them. Polish the outside of them too for aesthetic reasons of course. Any input?

I noticed the heads have casting marks in the runners too. Anyone try a port on them? Id be interested to pull the heads on my second engine and port them.

After squeezing ever last drop out of that engine by other methods this work might net you enough extra power to be measured several places to the right of a decimal point.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

That minimally? I figured it would've been at least like a couple horse with how course the surfaces are. Oh well I suppose.

I was at the junkyard to pickup the heater valves from an E38 since I noticed the seals were the same so I decided to pull it apart to get new needles from it and found they don't separate from the ballast up in the coil. I then noticed the plate construction between the two was nearly exactly the same as the E32 except the E38 had dowels in it. I drilled the dowels out and filed it down then everything bolted back together and was hunky dory.

Another option I have seen done is people will swap the entire valve assembly and just swap over the connector. Personally I like to stick to OEM+ so I did it my way. One of my other projects is incorporating ambient lighting into the E32 but im probably going to reverse that.
