M50 Turbo with MS41 and bigger MAF?

hey there. i hope this is the right subforum for my question, as its not directly linked to forced induction.

i was running my old turbo M52 with a Megasquirt-based ECU, but i got tired of it always doing things that it shouldnt do and breaking down.
so were gonna try to map new setup with stock MS41 and rom raider. i've done the mapping of the old engine by myself and my friend also has some experience in programming an mapping stock ECUs.

Biggest problem will be the small stock MAF, i think. are there any experiences on what bigger MAFs can be used and are widely available (in germany) and where to get the MAF curves? also, i remember reading something about the stock ECU only being able to process air mass up to a given maximum. for higher air mass, you have to set some bits and even then its restricted. ?

Is there anyone out there who already has a turbo setup running on MS41?

Small information: 2.5l M50, vanos, power goal is 450-500 HP.

    thx for any information

Stock maf is done at 725kg/hr unless you put in a resister or use a larger tube diameter.

if you are using romraider, go over to the romradier forums for the ms41.

    https://www.romraider.com/forum/view...ffdd8f3a5dff97

They have a few mafs that already have the curves made for you, as well as software edits that raise the maximum mass flow to 2056 k/hr

All the info you need is already there. Just start reading

I suggest using the Nissan 350z MAF. works well and I put together a spreadsheet on RR that will help you scale it

X2 on nissan MAF. There almost all the same you can grab a MAF and pigtail from most nissans at a junkyard. Put it in a 3" tube.

    For 450-500 I would use a 1k resistor.
