    analog clock repair

Since cold weather came along, I noticed my analog clock runs super slow. I assume the old grease is just too thick and needs to be cleaned out and replaced.

Anyone have any tips or experience at this? Fortunately I have a spare with a scratched lens for learning on

    Cool

Check the voltage to the clock, the wires ,grounds, connectors and so forth and clean-de oxidize the connectors and a little conductivity spray or grease to keep them de oxidized.

    i agree, start there.

however, while i can see the reason for the confusion, dielectric grease (paste or spray) is the right product, but it is not conductive.

Di-electric grease keeps the oxidation away, Caig Deoxit D is along this line and does more-de-oxidizes and keeps these oxidizers from re attaching , Conductivity spray is conductive and has corrosion resistance--has metal in it--not cheap,, top of the line stuff more or less. Yes I agree di electric grease is not conductive and yes I agree most sprays are not conductive--exception is conductivity spray with silver, nickel and so forth flakes dispersed in it and also graphite dry spray in the non metal version of conductivity spray--much cheaper.
