Hi guys, been 7 years since I owned BMW (was an E46 325i), now I'm craving for it again coz it is just stunning car for me.
I'm thinking to go for E93 (either 325i/330i/335i) 2009-2010 or the LCI one 2011-up
Here is the odo is ranging from 80-100k miles (only high mileage), is there any insider tips to look at before buying it?
So much appreciated and thanks!
I love my E93, hard top convertible. I'm also very respectful of the pricey roof and mechanics.
Ensure it moves with utmost smoothness (even over weight-shift when almost closed).
Smooth, fully open to fully closed, not moving in a 'pulsing' manner.
Also, just let it sit part way under load for 5 minutes and see if it moves. (leaking hydraulics)
Look at the hydraulics in the trunk. Inspect the roof-mechanics when half way between open/closed.
My E93 is 10 years old. It still runs smooth. I open/closed approx 750+ times this last summer. It's starting to 'pulse' slightly as it goes through the motion, so I'm starting to read up on how to tune it up.
I also love my N54 engine (335i), however it's also parked in the garage where I will put a few grand into maintenance and tune-ups.
I am running 15 PSI (rather than 8), and will be running 20 PSI by spring.
Parts go faster w/ the turbos, even if you don't over-boost.
If you like reliable, go 328. If this is your mid-life-crisis and you have a second car, get the 335 like me
