I have 2007 bmw 325xi I had a whining noise for about the last 1000 miles and the rear turbo had an excessive rattle. I came home from work the other day and the whining stopped but thick white smoke pouring out of my exhaust. I’m wondering if the turbo gave out leaking oil into engine. There are no engine or warning lights but not driving it because it will fowl everything. Is it the turbo need help the car has 155000 miles on it

Unless you are comfortable tearing things down to the turbo level to investigate.
Not saying it's the turbos, but the mileage suggests it could be.
If it turns out to be Turbo related, I suggest at least an e-mail/call to Rob Beck.
He's got excellent replacement Turbos. You can land a set for just under $1000 USD. (there is installation and seals of course)
