    Cruise control actuator mounting questions

    1990 325i vert

In the past someone saw fit to cut the wire and remove the cc actuator and cable from my car. I obtained a new actuator with cable from the yard yesterday. However, the car (87 325is) had the mounting bracket welded to the left side of the car, in the same place where the coolant overflow reservoir is on mine.

I've tried researching this but haven't found anything definitive. Is there some other bracket that I need to mount the actuator? It seems like there may be a bracket that attaches to where the air box mounts. If anyone can post pictures that would be awesome!

I didn't realize there were different configurations of the cooling system. Is that a convertible thing that puts the overflow tank on the driver's side?

    thanks
