TPM has a malfunction message and heat and heat lighting suddenly stops and starts

I have a 2014 BMW X3. It has 54,000 Miles on it. I'm have been getting a TPM malfunction message for about a week now. "System unable to detect tire pressure manually continue driving is possible, consult service center". I have checked the tire pressure. Pressure is good and I can't reset it. In addition, the heat was running this morning at about 70 degrees. Suddenly it turned off along with all the indicator lights(other lighting works fine). After about a min. everything came back on.
Any suggestions on what could be the issue.

    Thanks
    Eli

These are multiple issues, not just one. With a 2014 vehicle, your best bet is to take the car to a BMW specialist shop, or the dealership. The car needs to be connected to ISTA or another BMW specific diagnostic tool to ask the IHKA (a/c) and TPMS systems why they're unhappy.

With modern cars, there's little chance of diagnosing these things without the proper diagnostic computers to run the appropriate test plans.

Go to www.bimrs.org to find a reputable indie shop that specializes in bimmers. How old is the battery? Whacky voltages cause whacky issues.

The battery might be the original one. I might try to replace it.
    Thanks for the tips.

Keep in mind you can't simply replace battery plug and play. It needs to be programmed in, or else you will make the situation potentially worse.

Background: the car keeps track of how the battery is aging, and it changes charging methods as the battery ages. This is to be able to prolong the battery life.
When you replace a battery, the car needs to be told a fresh battery has been installed, and the battery's capacity. Unfortunately, this is not as DIY as it used to be.

I think your TPM sensors' batteries are dying (yes they have a battery in each one.... the joys of 'convenience'). This usually requires the TPM sensors to be replaced.
A proper diagnostic will tell you what and which.

The climate control issue is likely a completely separate issue.

The battery in the sensor is integrated, so you cannot replace it. The sensor can cost anywhere between 40 dollars for a generic, and about 125 for OEM.

They have specific tools at the dealership or a well stocked independent to see if the sensor is transmitting. Typically these sensor are suppose to last about 10 years, so at about 4 years I would be surprised if you do have a bad one.
