Hello everyone,
I need some expert help here.
Just bought a BMW E61 530d LCI 2007, with off course - water in the passenger seat.
So, my AL / Active steering module is toasted. I need to buy a second hand, but can’t seem to find any one who has the same BOSCH number ..
My part has this:
1 277 022 104
OEM number is:
32436788164
I could only find one with the same OEM number, but not the BOSCH number ..
The BOSCH number on this one is, 1 277 022 098 ..
Can I use this one?
It is also from an E61 LCI 2007, but it is an 535d instead of 530d!
Sorry for spelling errors, I’m from Denmark :-)
Help will be much appreciated!!
Regards

First off, welcome to the group and sorry for your woes. Here is a link to a BMW parts lookup site. Enter your VIN number and drive down to your area. This will provide the original part number the car rolled off the assembly line with. You also have the ability to identify superseded part numbers as well as other BMW's using the same part. Good luck. REALOEM.com
Thank you, this forum is very usefull!
And thank you for that link, I didn’t no that website existed!
If I do a cross reference on realoem.com (on the VIN numbers), the part number is exactly the same. So I guess it can be used? Although the Bosch number isn’t the same ..
This is brilliant :-) Just saved me like 1000$!!
Parts in Denmark are very expensive!
Glad it will work out for you. Remember, the new used module will need to be coded to the car. Being a used part, this will be more difficult. The previous VIN number will need to be removed and new VIN applied. Then the module coded to cars current firmware. Look up the actual procedures on one of the BMW coding forums. Good luck!
