2001 330ci unknown problem

So earlier today I was driving around, and turned left onto a street. As soon as I finish the turn, my engine cut off, and I could hear a sort of chugging sound. The RPM needle hopped inbetween 1 and 2 while it turned off. The brake light turned on red and then stayed yellow, so did he dsc light. The “service engine soon” light followed shortly after. I slowly applied the brakes and shifted into Park. The lights where still on and I really don’t understand what happened. But I then tried turning it on again and there was a major delay. 7 minutes before this I had turned it on and everything was functioning normally. The engine, aside from having a longer delay, also struggles a bit to accelerate forward now.
If anyone can help I really appreciate you just let me know if I can be of assistance. Also I haven’t gotten the error codes but will do so in a day or two.

-it has also been raining moderately for the past two days. The curb did have a puddle. Right after I cleared it the engine cut off and the mentioned lights turned on aswell as the ignition delay

Still don’t know how that connects to dsc and Brake light.

Was this at night? How many things running A/C, rear defrost, front defrost, seat heaters?

Just the radio and headlights were on. Yes this was at night.

Ok, I had a similar issue happen last winter. Car started fine and I was warming it up at idle with about every damn thing on in the car, lights, heated seats defroster up front and rear. As it turned out the battery was a bit taxed due to small trips around that winter. Normally I would leave the car on a charger but had not done this in a while. Try giving the battery a good charge and see if the issue goes away, I think you may have a low battery. I had all the damn lights coming on as well as CEL, brakes you name it!

Scanning for codes should be your first step.

Sorry I haven’t updated. I went to get the lights checked and there’s only one code p0335. I had the battery checked+alternator before that and everything was fine.
I’m looking into replacing the crankshaft position sensor but I don’t know the location of it. Is there any way you guys can help?
