When I have my aircon. or heater on fresh air there is very low air flow and when I change it to recycle the airflow picks up noticeably. I did the obvious and looked at the air intake and took off the air intake grill and looked down inside and I don't see any obstruction.
Does anyone know what the likely cause of this airflow restriction is likely to be? I don't want to go pulling things out like the blower under the grill only to find out I'm look in entirely the wrong place.
Thanks!
How old is the cabin air filter? If you replace the filter be sure to vacuumed out the chamber.

Remove cabin filter.
Run it for a couple minutes to blow out any leaves or what have you...
Vacuum up the mess.
Put it back together and have a beer.
Thanks all. I have replaced the filter within the last two years but didn't know I was supposed to clean out the area before replacing it. I'll give that shot.
Within two years the cabin filter can get plugged up!

I've replaced the cabin filter and it did look like it needed replacing but it's not the source of the problem unfortunately. I'm guessing I have to look at actuators and cables. I saw two actuators on the passenger side when replacing the filter but I'm having trouble finding a "how to" to do some diagnostics.
Does anyone know where there's a good troubleshooting guide for these flaps, cables & actuators? Or perhaps a, "How to best get to the bits of the cabin air flow controls" guide so you can inspect them.
