If you put cheap parts on your car, you will soon have a cheap parts car.
Run your figure through the front tire outer edge clockwise on left tire and counter clockwise on the left tire, if you feel the ridges of the treads then that could be the cause of shimmy, this is what my tire guy told me, since my car has directional tires (also staggered setup), I cannot rotate tires front to back and left to right so over the time, front tires outer edge treads have developed ridges, maybe caused by out of spec alignments?
Yeah. I’ve mellowed w age. Mostly a good thing probably. Don’t have nearly as much of the need for speed type thrills anymore, but for sure still enjoy having fun. Couple buds croaked theyselfs BITD on bikes due to excessive need for speed adrenaline junky stuff and it’s prob best I’m past that as the reaction times slow down. I do still periodically realize I’m flyin the mtn bike a bit too fast through downhill hairpin switchbacks with tree trunks lining the sides and turns... I guess that’s the difference tho... in my yout I wouldn’t have even noticed how effin dangerous it was... and instead of just the mtn bike it’d be a sport bike on a mountain pass at high double digits.

^ Im at about the same mindset JC! I did manage to clip a bar end last weekend an did a triple tree ping pong bounce. Ribs, shoulder, and knee got dinged up. Still finished out the ride! The need for speed is less, but I still fire it up here and there.
Jim. Likely a flat spotted tire ca using your shimmy, but you will get more issues with those original TAB'S. If your ball ends and boots are solid, i'd press in the Meyle HD's made for X5 in your original arms. I'm very happy with them. Lemforders are suspect these days...

Ouch. I like to keep my crazy antics restricted to when I have a metal structure surrounding me.
I'm getting a light shimmy around the same speeds in my M5, but the control arms were replaced at 110k miles (I'm at 161k now). I'm thinking about picking up a set of German Auto Solutions monoball bearing/bushings.

Ouch!! yeah last few years I’ve had a BAD torn calf, buncha hand and digits and wrist torn up ligaments. Had to have a root canal few years back that was most probably from a massive head-slam-into-ground snapping my jaw shut and cracking the tooth. Loads of abrasions and tree scrapes. Seem to be lucky on bones. No jinx. Had big digger last week thrown high and fast into the side of a mud puddle. Everyone was impressed. One bud heard the impact way down the trail and thought it was right behind him. That was fun. No major damage.
(Chris we totally gotta go riding)

off topic, I got this today too whilst doing some donuts in the snow. Thought I ripped off a control arm or something when I got out of the parking lot but realized it was just due to the amount of snow that was in my front wheels/calipers/wheel well etc. Cleaned it all off and the shimmy went away. ::shrugs::

Well, the shake caused by front brake rotors is typically continuous, at all speeds.
If your car is shaking only at speeds of about 45 to 60 mph, then it is a sure sign that your lower control arms and bushings need to be replaced.
Looks like it was caused by the front left tire being 4-5 PSI low, probably caused a flat spot.
I drove on the same section of road again today, the lane I was in had a wash board surface for a long stretch.
After adding air a few days ago all is fine, the suspension arms won't need to be changed at least for a while.
If only mine were so easily resolved. You must be pretty kind on your car. My M5 is on its second set of thrust arm bushings and it needs a third.

Shake is probably a ballast issue. Too much blue powder coat. Math never lies.
