Hi, I posted my L6 in the "for sale" forum. A member said it would be okay to post it in the E24 forum too. Mileage is 147,674 (photo shows 147,650).
If interested, here's the post: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...e-1987-BMW-L6& Thanks!

Looks like a nice car. Good luck with your sale!
If you haven't gotten it running yet, I'd recommend calling a decent local independent mechanic to tow it over for a quick tune-up. There are driveway mechanics in your area, right? I haven't tried them personally but they might be a good bet for a job like this. Most half-decent mechanics could get your car running again very economically without breaking anything expensive.
It would probably start & run pretty easily, but there is a risk of damaging the car. If you decide to start it up yourself, I wouldn't run the starter for more than about 15 seconds at a time. If it doesn't start right away, come back and try again in a half-hour or so. The starter isn't designed to run for very long, they'll burn out if you crank the motor for too long.
Fuel does go bad with age, but three years shouldn't cause a huge amount of trouble for a tough old motor like our cars. I'd recommend some old-fashioned Heet if you can get it. Most WalMart & auto parts stores will sell it. Your car will likely have a little condensed water in the fuel tank due to long-term storage, Heet can absorb small amounts of water from the gas tank.
Save the manuals!
