Trunk stuck locked

Yesterday the trunk was stuck locked several times. The button feels no resistance and the key lock/unlock works fine through trunk locks. Usually the combination of pushing the lock and turning the key unstuck the trunk lock. Does that mean I need to replace the lock? Thanks

Sounds like the mechanism is either broken or just came loose

I saw one YouTube showing the turning mechanism doesn't turn to position either because the tooth blocks or the plastic piece is broken.
Can i hold the trunk sensor to simulate trunk locking by remote keyless?

try using the fob or key in the door to lock/unlock and see what happens. Also you dont' have a vert correct? If so it could be the tonneau switch on the passenger side. Press down on the toneau on the passenger side and listen for a electro-mechanical noise at the lock.

Mine did the same thing. Pushing the button in would feel like no resistance indicating it wasn't actually actuating any of the linkage/mechanism in the trunk lid.

I dropped my rear seat backs (coupe) and crawled in to partially remove some of the carpet on the rear of the trunk lid. Turns out, there is a white plastic bushing on a metal rod that is supposed to keep it engaged into its mating hole. It had come out and was loose enough that simply putting it back wouldn't result in it staying in there. My quick fix was to a install zip tie to prevent that from backing out on its own. Works great now.

If this hasn't happened to yet, I recommend doing this as a Preventative Maintenance item.

@mrf I had some luck to turn the key counter-clockwise then push the lock. The lock issue has faded a bit. I guess I can do this preventative measures by opening the latch on the trunk lid, right?

The issue is similar to one old post that the cylinder is not lubricated to retreat to the bottom so that the metal plate it connects get blocked by the tooth where metal plate is supposed to push against.

I put WD40 and didn't see much difference, then did the same as the other poster did, fly the tooth off a bit so that the metal plate can turn into position.
