No longer an owner of an 8 but glad I dropped by for a visit. Yours is easily my favorite version of the platform and so well restored. Very pleased to have dropped by for a forum visit this morning.
Just a thought. The front wheels seem to have a bit of a pushed back caster appearance. It may be the camera angle or just me not seeing it right. Are you sure you have the correct lower control arms on it?
You may feel a little more high speed stability with the wheels pushed out some. Man that's a nice looking 8. Way to go.

Hi Dan - yes, it is just the camera angle. When I get a chance, I will take some better photos. It is back in the ship today for a final re-wet sanding on the hood. With it being carbon fiber, it can show anything. We are going to 2500, then buffing again. It should be ready by tomorrow.

Ok - Amazing. Love the paintjob, and what a great color. How much of the work did you do yourself?

Everything except the actual stripping and painting. I took everything apart before taking it to Patrick, and put everything back together after painting, plus all the other restoration work.

After the importation process and federalization by Bill Fox at 101 Innovations, a registered RI, and almost 3 years of restoration, on Sunday I was able to start the 5.7. My initial attempt to start about a month ago ended up with the realization of a failed Fuel Pump assembly. As noted in another thread, I was able to rebuild it using new Bosch pumps, wiring and hoses. On Sunday I was able to get the car started and let it run twice for about 15 minutes each, and initially bled the cooling system. I still have to apply the Alpina side stripes, clear up a honking horn issue, and do some final small stuff. It sure was great to hear it run!

The car was stripped to metal and repainted. The interior was sorted out - it had very light beige carpeting, which was changed out to custom made dark blue. Lots and lots of work over the past 3 years, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! Here are some pictures taken over the past few months. It is still on the stands/blocks, but will come down soon.

It was a guy local to me - about a mile away. No - not in my garage. His specialty is older Jags - 120's, 140's and XKE's. He also just did some work on his 3rd 8. I teased him that he was changing from Jags to BMW's. He has done my Alpina as well as the CSi, which is patiently waiting it's turn.
