What is your desired outcome? If you want to heat up the engine you can better mount a Webasto heater in the car. These can be found for low prices on Ebay and can be cheaply fitted with a Siemens telephone to mimic the TC4 GSM option to control it with your smartphone app.

I like your suggestion nullified. Great way to get what the OP might need, with a safe equipment upgrade.

There are also 12V options for heating both the engine, and the passenger compartment. Either option could be controlled with a high power relay, and a controller triggered by a remote. You could either use a dedicated remote, or get an alarm that ha a programmable accessory power lead option.

That exists, the downside is that you need a separate battery or better a hookup to the mains.

But I wonder how much of an engine heater is needed in Alabama? I don't think it gets under 40 at most? I do realize Nullified isn't familiar with our weather patterns state by state though.

Thats true Bert, and this raises the need to understand the desired outcome of the TS.

I used a Astro remote starter, more difficult on a manual transmission, but possible,
    Good luck

    Compustar all the way.
Assuming that your car is in good condition, there is nothing "difficult" about remote starting this car, but that being said you will want to find a veteran installer. Go somewhere where the boss is at least 40+ years old. Or even look for a Compustar "Pro" dealer, they restrict that title to the better shops in every region.

P.S. I have been working in the automotive aftermarket industry for 20 years (not bragging)

    Good luck!

I'm still unaware which problem the ts is trying to solve. This must be the first step.

Sorry everyone for neglecting to respond. I haven’t been on the forum in awhile. At the time I made this thread I was having trouble with the car starting every once in awhile. I was thinking the remote starter would be beneficial. My ignition switch was the issue. I live in North Alabama and it gets quite cold in late January through early March. I would like to be able to heat the car a few minutes before I get in. I will look into the recommendations that you all have given me.
