Im looking to sell my E38, I already have one and really just want an SUV for the sake of difference.

The inside is in phenomenal shape. The outside is not bad, but needs a paint job. Ive been quoted at $2500 by a good friend that paints high end cars, but I'd rather let the next person go through their own channels to do that; as Ive found and SUV I want. Id considered painting it Imola or some such color, but IMHO this car should stay as close to OE as possible.

I purchased it on a whim in January, but already have an E38 and do not need two. I replaced a DME and secured it in the Ebox & added some padding. OSV's are new, headlamp lens, and a few other parts under the hood. The AC was serviced in July and works perfect as does the heat. The only thing not reading is the temp gauge in the cluster. I have an extra cluster Ill give away with the car. The heads up display does read the the engine temp, you'll see a photo in the album. It was built 7/23/98 and came with navigation. I was able to upgrade it to the 16:9 screen and the MK4 DVD nav. The rear 1/4 shade on driver side is missing & the thin chrome between the shade and the panel on the passenger rear. Rear speakers need new foam, which I will supply. I have the center support and flex disc and will have them installed before it leaves. New fuel filter as well.

I am the 3rd owner in 20 years, pretty rare these days. I have the history report as well. Original owner (Bob Barker) had a big car dealership in VA, then he sold it to a friend (Italian eatery owner) of his who always admired the car. He passed on and I purchased it from his son/their business. It was largely garage kept over the last 20 years. I bought new rubber for the windscreen, but knew it needed to be painted so I held off installing. The windshield is the one that came in the car!

In short, it needs a paint job and a new driver. It has a dent on the driver door and a few tiny dings that would all be remedied by a paint job. It does not need door jamb paint, and has no rust on the doors where they typically develop it. You will be amazed at how clean the black leather is.

With just over 4000 made from 98-01 where production ended, it is a special car. With a paint job you'd have a great machine. If I was able I would paint it and have it on display somewhere with monthly drives.

Must be a real good friend. Proper materials alone cost half of his price. Which by the way, what is your asking price?
