Hey guys, need help 1st time poster newby
Australian model 330Ci e46 2002 with built in TV, CD stacker and DSP unit with after market Parrot Bluetooth unit. I have bought an aftermarket Erisin Head unit and test wired it up only to find no sound. Now apparently it is because the unit may not be compatible with the dsp and some sort of workaround like rewiring the speakers need to be done. I have looked high and low for a solution but to no avail.
So my question is has anyone else came across this problem and has anyone solved it keeping the dsp and how did they do it.
Ps. The original head unit works fine so I have no problem keeping it to solve the dsp problem (not sure how of course just read something about an e36 where they kept the original pcbs from it to trick the computer) but just really want this new head unit to work.
Im as dumb as a box of hammers so clear instructions would be a plus. Cheers

I assume (yeah, that’s bad) that your car has a separate amp. The amp is typically wired so that it has power at all times. The head unit has to supply a 12VDC “turn on” signal for the amp to operate. Check to make sure the new head unit is providing that signal.
www.newtis.info will provide the wiring diagrams.
Did the new head unit come with any wiring diagrams? The wire that carries the turn in signal may be labeled “antenna motor” (older cars had a motor to raise and lower the antenna mast).
