So I had a issue and the seatbelt guide cover broke, I know I need to remove the headrest to replace it however the main big part that attaches to the seat, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=52_2971 part 3 and 5 , these are held in the middle and on the bottom, on the bottom there is a screw that looks like it is supposed to come from inside the seat to the outside, well mine is currently just attached to the part 5 and 3 from the inside but not hooked to the seat. I cannot figure out what is wrong, or how the 3 and 5 would be removed from the seat. Anyone can help?
Part 3 & 4 are installed ABOVE the seat cover. Part 5 is the foundation UNDERNEATH the seat cover that part 3 & 4 get attached to.
I have never taken my seat cover off so I am not sure how part 5 is installed.
Part 3 is installed using the one screw in the bottom that is inserted sideways in the horizontal plane. After attaching part 3 to the seat using the lower screw, part 4 should be fitted/clipped on to part 3 (after passing the seat belt) and ONLY then the upper vertical screw can be inserted to hold part 3 & 4 together and to the seat. Part 4 should have a small fragile tiny opening near the top end that the upper screw passes through. If part 4's attachment clips and ring are broken, I would secure part 3 with the upper and lower screws and then either glue part 4 on to part 3 or use 3M double sided tape.
There are no screws that attach from inside out! And you DO NOT need to remove the headrest to install part 3 or 4!
Uninstallation should follow reverse order: Remove the upper vertical screw first before trying to separate the cover (part 4) otherwise the upper small plastic ring that holds part 4 to the upper screw will break.

On the subject of seat belts, on both of my seats the belt is twisted between the point where it is bolted to the seat and the point where it passes through the guide at the shoulder. Why is that?
