Hi guys. I just acquired a 1988 BMW 325i (4 door, North America - if it matters in the grand scheme of things)
I am trying to figure out 2 things:
1. Sometimes under acceleration (medium to hard) the engine cuts out (happened 3 times already). Other time (once), at speed (maintaining speed ~120kph) it would cut out. There is no jerk or anything, just dies and I put in neutral, restart and away i go. Would the be the TPS switch? if so, does anyone have the part # or are these units different based on the VIN?
2. Need to replace the hoses and reservoir for the steering assembly (as a cleanup). As far as i could muster from looking at this forum and online, I need the reservoir, reservoir to pump assembly (banjo) and steering rack to reservoir assembly (banjo). There seem to be a few part numbers out there. Is there any way to make sure i get the right parts? Or they would fit as long as the model and year are correct for the part?
2. b. at this time, should i replace the high pressure hose as well, or leave it be?

I would check the crank position sensor on the front of the engine, for the cut out
No e30s again.
