E32 Sports Seats? Will E30s do? What fits?

Hi,

I'm eyeing up a late 80s/early 90s BMW 735i SE (E32) as a bit of a restoration project. I like the style of how the Alpina B11 seats look but can't seem to find any, nor can I find any regular sports seats for an E32 or even an E34. The best I can find is the front Recaros from an E30 in black leather. Would E30 seats look far too small in a 7 or could I get away with it? I mean I am going for a sportier look but I don't want it to look stupid.

Failing that, what readily available front seats look good in an E32. Any earlier models or later models that don't seem too out of place? The back bench I'm fine with, its just all black leather.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I remember liking Cory's front seats in his E 32 740i. Not sure what they were. He is E30luv318 on the board. I would pm him.

His seats look like the e34 540i sport seats, although I wonder if the e32s could have been ordered with leather sports seats? Maybe check realoem?

^ yes e34 sport seats . Euro e32’s were available with sport seats, no us spec e32 came with them.

your going to spend more time making e30 seats fit just look for e34/32 sport seats they are very supportive and comfortable

Regardless of fitment, would e30 seats be too small looking in such a big car? I’m struggling to find e34 sports seats other than in grey fabric. Where is the best place to look?

They’d look small in my opinion. Let a lot how an e34/32 has 2 mounting bolts vs 4 on e30 seat. I have seen e34 seats mounted in e28’s and they look ok . It all depends how how picky you are, I’d say check local junk yards... you have a large advantage over us here in the states as only the 540 sport got sport seats
