    Dead instrument panel F10

    Ok I have a manual 6 speed F10 with the N55 engine 2011 that I’m having very weird electrical issues with it, I hope someone can chime in or have experienced the same issues and have the answers for me.
    When you get into the car and push start the button on position 1 ( without stepping on the brake pedal or clutch) the interior lights will come on along with radio, AC/ heat, windows, seats, CID screen, lock/unlock etc.. all working fine but I’m not getting power to the instrument panel ( it’s completely dead no lights whatsoever) if you push start on position 2 everything will turn off, there is no crank either one time I heard the starter fired and that’s it no more, I have checked the battery and it’s fully charged 12.6v all fuses are good I replaced relays on the front and rear junction boxes as well, what can this be ?? Thanks in advance...

    How old is the battery? I just changed mine. It was a 35 week of 2014. Still reads 12 volts and started the car. But ista was giving a code for the battery being worn out. Could also be a dead fuel pump or starter.

    Just a friendly FYI...this is the f10 5 series forum...and the instrument cluster and electrical communication bus is COMPLETELY different than the e39 5 series. I'm going to assume that you are asking about an e39 because that is the car info you have listed in your car info...and you don't mention an f10 5 series model/model year in your post. You may want to copy and paste your question over on the 39 forum for better suggestions.

    Have you adjusted the instrument cluster dimmer switch? Have you checked to see if the 5 bulbs that illuminate the instrument cluster are burnt out?

    {see #2 in diagram below...there are 5 of those bulbs that illuminate the e39's instrument cluster}
