QUICK dumb question - SAFE to Drive with ENGINE coolant sensor disconnected?

So...., I was continuing to get a P0128 after replacing all my hoses, water pump, themostat, so just picked up a new engine coolant temperature sensor to try. Unfortunately, since it is such an ass pain to change out in the e46, although I did get the new one in and tight, I broke the connector off in the process. Can I make it to an auto parts store with out the harness connected? No huge risk? Anyone have any idea?
    THANK YOU

If it runs well enough to drive it'll be fine.

As long as it's not leaking and runs fine, sure. It may run a bit rough or stall when the engine is cold. If that's the case, just let the engine heat up a bit on idle before you drive off.
