automatic transmission rolls forward in reverse on hill?

    Hi all

Might be a stupid question, does automatic transmission rolls forward on hill while in reverse, I was trying to park in the reverse few days back while car was in reverse and it keeps rolling forward, I was expecting a same behaviour when car doesn't roll back going up the hill on drive mode?

    Thanks
    Sal

I had the same problem yesterday.
While backing up my driveway in reverse (uphill) it stopped moving.
I then rolled down to a level section and gave it a few revs but car did not move.
I moved the shifter in and out of reverse a couple of times and it was fine after that. I backed out okay uphill.

When it would not go up the hill I was going very slowly as I was close to a wall.
Now I suspect my transmission is low on oil, because I have a leak somewhere.
I'm wondering if all the oil went to one end because I was on the slope ?

I have it booked in for a service so I am going to get the guys to take a look at the oil levels.
Also my tranny makes very hard changes when I move off slowly.

Occasionally when moving away from the lights if I give it a little gas it will select a very
low gear and rev like crazy.

    Hi

I did get the oil checked at mine and it was all fine with no leaks at all.

    Thanks
